Nineteen of the Russian's 21 victories have been won on hard courts

A revitalized Daniil Medvedev secured his initial championship for nearly 30 months with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament final.

The athlete, a ex- number one, has experienced a torrid period, managing just one match at the big events and undergoing a meltdown at the New York tournament.

Medvedev's inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and issues with his service game in especial - resulted in him falling of the top ten and ultimately parting ways with long-time mentor Gilles Cervara.

Now working with Johansson and Goetzke, he has steadily improved in the past month - climaxing in a tightly fought three-set victory over opponent Moutet.

It is Medvedev's maiden championship since the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard court after spring of the previous year.

Victory also signifies he has achieved twenty-one victories at twenty-one distinct competitions.

"For the first time I'm at a tournament with my both daughters together, so to get a title is really nice," stated tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.

"This victory is in honour of my second daughter my daughter, because the first title I won when my older daughter Alisa was born was for her."

The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his past six finals, comprising in Halle in the past months.

Medvedev's retrieving strategy and regular outbursts on the playing surface had prompted commentators to wonder if his capacity to compete at the top level was concluded.

However the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, striving to come to the net and perform assertively, supported by an enhanced serve.

He fought back from a deficit in the first set against the difficult Moutet, winning 4 of the concluding five points to take the lead.

The pair traded breaks in the middle set before the Frenchman, striving for his maiden tour championship, took control to create a third set.

Moutet saved four early-game chances in a close final set before Medvedev won the break to that score to serve for the match.

Appropriately, he earned victory with a point at the net area, with his opponent failing to manage a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
